Time, Talent and Treasures

The I THIRST Initiative needs help to further its mission of reaching out to those afflicted by substance use disorders and their families through the various programs it offers.  Here’s a way you might help:

Give of your TIME:

family, support, share, love
Friends & Family Support

The I THIRST Initiative seeks individuals who are willing to volunteer in the following areas:

  • Retreat hospitality ( Help us provide for those in treatment who join us on retreat by providing and serving meals, assistance with preparation and with clean up, entertainment etc.)

Give of your Talent:

The I THIRST Initiative seeks individuals who are willing to volunteer in the following areas:

  • Training in Spiritual Companionship ( Learn how to become a resource for the afflicted and their families by training to be a Spiritual Companion – a person of faith who journeys with the individuals providing empathy, compassion, consolation and recovery resource information)
  • Training in Pastoral Care ( Learn about substance use disorder as a true spiritual disease with devastating physiological and psychological effects. Then bring our training to a parish, or school near you!)
  • Retreat Programming (Come share your story of how addiction affected your life and become a source of strength and hope for others)
  • Fundraising ( Help us raise funds which will support various programs within I THIRST, including our Winter Wheat Sober Community living home, and Mercy House.)

Give of your Treasure:

The I THIRST Initiative seeks individuals who are able to donate to support our Mission of serving the afflicted and their families.  Your support will allow us to continue to educate so as to prevent substance use disorders; it will allow us to continue to bring hope to those who are incarcerated and in treatment, and it will allow us to support our Aftercare and Community Building programs.
